Burning the Candle at Both Ends

So this past week has been crazy, haven't really had time to post much on here.  This past week I spent a ton of hrs getting ready for our first trade show with Drive Dirty.  We exhibited at the International Motorcycle Show in Cleveland, Oh Friday through Sunday.  Got some good exposure for our brand and met some cool people.

Unfortunately for me, burring the candle at both ends like I always do ( I got home last night, slept a few hrs and went out plowing snow from 3am till 9am.) I am not sick.  I hate being sick because I feel so counter-productive in my business and my training.  Nast cough and sore throat.  I guess it's that time of year!!!! I am sure going from sunny and warm Arizona to nasty cold Ohio did not help either.

Hopefully I have some more time to share more with everyone this week.

Visiting Sponsors

Today was a fun day that kicked off for me around 5:30am.  I had the opportunity to go visit the Universal Technical Institute campus today and take a tour thanks to Mike Blankenship.  UTI has been a supporter of my program since last year and it was awesome to see their massive campus and all they have to offer their students.  I even got to speak with Mike up on stage to a group of high school students who are thinking about going to UTI.  I really enjoy sharing my story and inspiring our younger generations to go out there not be afraid to get their hands dirty while chasing their dreams.  I am very much an advocate for the blue collar working man (and women) so it ws really great for me to see these young kids interested in going to school to further their education to be able to go and work with their hands for a living and be skilled at what they do.

From there, I paid a visit to my long time marketing partners at Rigid Industries.  Always cool to see how many Americans that company employs and how busy they are assembling, packaging, and shipping out their product.  We discussed some things for my Torc program this year and also did a photo shoot and quick video interview that should hit the web a little closer to the start of our race season.

After taking care of some business with my business partner with Drive Dirty, it was back to the hotel for me and downstairs to go hit the gym before dinner.

Dont forget to check out the Drive Dirty website as we launch a bunch of new apparel next week! Drive Dirty Webite

First Blog!!! WHATS UP!

Whats up everyone!   I've decided to give this blogging thing a try......Since sometimes the caption is too long on instagram and sometimes I just have random stuff that happens to me on a daily basis that I would like to share with everyone.  We have some great marketing partners that have supported Joe Sylvester Motorsports for several years now and this will also give me a chance to talk a little more about them and how I use their products and services.

My lifestyle is crazy and inconsistant as hell to say the least.  (I can say hell on here right? ) I will try to keep my cussing to a minimum on here since we have fans of all ages!  I know alot of you have questions about my day to day life, from my training, dieting, cooking, working on race cars, welding  and fabricating, and truck driving.  I will try to post on here as often as I can because I never stay in one place for too long.  I travel a TON and work super long hrs chasing that dream of being a successful pro racer.....I dont think I am there yet, but every day I am working hard to get closer!

So check back with me....I think you can leave me comments on here too...again Im not sure, still new to this blogging stuff haha.   So leave a comment, question, flirt, talk trash, whatever....I will try to respond to everyone as best I can and in a timely manner.

Today, my travels find me in Phoenix, AZ......same place I was at this time last year.  Only this time, my girlfriend Cynthia is here driving a monster truck.  I am enjoying the sunshine after being out plowing snow for 5 hrs almost right up until the time I had to leave for the airport to come out here.  Today has been pretty uneventful as I have pretty much spent the entire day (including the plane ride) working on marketing partner presentations as well as some things I have in the works for my clothing company, Drive Dirty.  For those of you who dont know about Drive Dirty yet, check it out...www.DriveDirty.com   instagram and facebook as well @drivedirty   It is what we like to call a "Dirt Road Lifestyle Brand"  an apparel company and lifestyle brand that caters to people kinda like me.....blue collar, hard workin, fun lovin, americans that love the lifestyle of racing, hunting, fishing, mud boggin, and just all around havin fun in the outdoors!  The styling has a vintage hot rod feel to it...which is exactly how we like it.  The quality is very good as well.  We use a super nice style of shirt and the latest in discharge ink technology....not just a crappy Tshirt with a heavy logo silk screened on it that is going to fade and shrink in the wash.  Big things in the works for Drive Dirty!Drive Dirty website

I guess thats enough for today, I am not even sure what time it is here right now...this day has pretty much been a blur.  But it feels like its time for some protein and a little one on one time between me and some heavy iron in the gym downstairs.

Tomorrow i will be visiting the UTI (Universal Technical Institute) campus here in Phoenix with my buddy Mike Blankenship.  I will get the grand tour of the place and then speak to some high school kids about what I do, where I came from, and how cool and prideful it is to work with your hands and do a good job.  I always say, the reward for work well done, is the opportunity to do more.  One of the greatest compliments someone can give me is that I work my ass off and that they appreciate the hard work and busted knuckles that I put into a project.

Be sure to stay current with everything on my website www.JoeSylvester8.com    (notice the address change)  We will be making alot of changes to the site over the next month as well.Joe Sylvester Website

Thanks again everyone and Stay Dirty!Joe Sylvester Website
